1982 Pocket Books paperback of the 1969 horse racing thriller. I found it this morning in the free books pile on the porch of Dimond Library. By the stamp inside, it originated from the Bay Area Free Book Exchange a few towns north of here.
I can let this go after I read:
1962 Dead Cert [read 2010]
1964 Nerve [read 2023]
1965 For Kicks [read 2013]
1966 Flying Finish [read 2023]
1967 Blood Sport [read 2016]
1968 Forfeit [read 2015]
Edit December 19, 2020: I read the beginning of this, and liked the setup, but skimmed to end for time. I do like this author's ability to weave a bit of a thriller. I currently have this ranked at #634 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
