I got this book years ago, after I'd spotted a description on the back pages of my copy of The Last Unicorn. Since then, I've tried reading it at least twice, and it's really well-written (and a beautiful edition to boot), but I just can't seem to ever finish it.
Since I'm moving to another city soon, I'm trying to minimize the number of books to take with me (haha, I know). And as much as it might hurt, I've decided to set this book free. I hope it will meet lots of nice people on the road, and have lots of marvellous adventures! :)

Thanks a lot for offering it as RABCK and sending it all the way up North!

Very well written book that is worth struggling through the middle to find out how it ends. It does have some weaker part on the road but all in all it's a good example of early fantasy books - written 1895 - with a touch of magic and parallel worlds next to ours. I can very well understand why they tell this is the book C.S. Lewis and Tolkien must have taken as example to start writing similar books later on.
As working in a library for the moment, the story spoke to me in a very special way, with the main person taking care of a private library himself. Some luck the other things that happen are not so likely to happen where I'm working - for one thing we don't have a mirror there ...

Thanks a lot for sharing this book, now trying to find a new person to read it!

I read this book long ago, but forgot to make a journal entry. An interesting fantasy book. The introduction by C. S Lewis was also interesting to read.
