Woo-Hoo! I love a suprise. Thanx L-S-L for the lift today - I needed it.
Enjoyed this read. A bit disappointed in the ending. For me it became a bit slower towards the end.
On its way to HI77...
When the scales of life
have been balanced,
what becomes of those tense moments?

ha ha This one was torture! :P
It seems to me to be very hit or miss on the contemporary fiction coming out today. This was a miss. I don't know. I didn't particularly care for the main character. Her personality seemed so flaky and detached. I understand girls can be very self centered at that age but she had no internal depth to balance it. Her behaviour was always a knee jerk reaction and when she abandoned her mother without a word, even though they were supposedly so close, I just gave up on her.
The story drug on and on and I was rooting for her to find herself out on her butt in the New York streets, living in a cardboard box! What a sorry personality and a moocher to top it off! Bleh! I was glad to be done with this one.
What an annoying character.

This book is on a special mission! :)
A very warm hearted BC member started a new job and had this to say:
"I recently started a new job as a night-shift emergency nurse at a hospital in Washington, D.C. The other day I took my lunch break out in the main lobby, where it was quiet, and spotted their magazine and book cart. Though it was piled high was magazines, there were only a teeny handful of books, maybe four or five. I've been trying to wild release more so only had a few I was able to contribute, though I do plan on popping over to Goodwill or somewhere and buying more.
If anyone has books they would like to share with this hospital (which serves a huge range of people, from all walks of life, races socio-economic standings, etc.), it would be very appreciated."
So, in the spirit of goodwill, I and I'm sure many others are sending books off to fill that cart! ;)
