Journal Entry 1 by guinaveve from Mason, Ohio USA on Wednesday, August 19, 2009
This book is to be left in the box. It is for tracking the "Books I Have Actually Read" Bookbox. Make a journal entry on this book when you receive the box and release notes when you send it on to aid everyone in keeping track of the box. If the box itself looks rough, please replace it. Thanks. I am running low on reading material and rather than make a visit to the used bookstore, I thought I would start up a bookbox in hopes of getting back some good reads. What I am looking for: This box is only for books that you have read entirely. You don't have to give them rave reviews, but I am looking for interesting stories that you at least thought you would like because the back cover sounded intriguing. If you loved the book, all the better. What I am not looking for: Please don't include the likes of Grisham and King, stuff that most everyone has already read. Also not applicable are self help, how to's, old biographies of little known celebrities or wannabes, weight loss, cookbooks, romances ect. I am looking for a good story, not for someone to unload unwanted titles they have haven't gotten around to wild releasing. edited to add (from here on out)- Please don't include books that are part of a series. To make them worthwhile, you need the whole set. As stated in the thread to start this box, participants must receive the box and ship it back out within a week, two at the most if "life happens." I would like to receive it back to enjoy the contents without prodding and numerous reminders. It is a good idea, once you have the box in hand, to ask for the next participants address immediately in case there is trouble contacting them instead of waiting until the day you are ready to ship. Here is what I have to include. I have read all of these and most were chosen at thrift or UBSs by me because I thought they sounded intriguing/interesting. A few came from other BCers. Rise and Shine by Anna Quindlen Father's Day- Katherine Brady Trans-Sister Radio by Chris Bohjalian Winkie by Clifford Chase A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines A Map of the World by Jane Hamilton Disobedience by Jane Hamilton Jesus Land by Julia Scheeres Diary of a Mad Bride by Laura Wolf The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood The Memory Box by Margaret Forster The Night Watch by Sarah Waters The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison The Things They Carried by Tim O'brien Saturday by Ian McEwan The participant order (done geographically)- taaza- Wisconsin OldBroad- Washington affinity4books- Texas nuttyreader- Texas debnance- Texas Back to me~~~~BOX IS HERE~~~~ If you have any questions, concerns, problems, ect, feel from to PM me.

Journal Entry 12 by guinaveve at Not sure what happened to it. in I don't have it anymore., I don't know -- Controlled Releases on Sunday, October 10, 2010
Released 1 yr ago (10/10/2010 UTC) at Not sure what happened to it. in I don't have it anymore., I don't know -- Controlled Releases WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I am cleaning up my BC shelf and making sure that what is on my online shelf is actually on my real life shelves. If this is a kids' book, my kids probably have it. If it is an adult book, I probably loaned it out and didn't get it back. Otherwise, I am just not sure.If you are the finder of this book, welcome to the site. Please make a journal entry so that I know it has been picked up and found. To do so is free and you can do it anonymously. You can read the book or not, keep it, pass it on to someone else you think might enjoy it, or leave it in a public place like I did.
