Journal Entry 1 by azuki from Miami, Florida USA on Tuesday, August 18, 2009
Abridged, 6 CD Original The undisputed master of the techno-thriller has written his most riveting -- and entertaining -- book yet. Once again Michael Crichton gives us his trademark combination of page-turning suspense, cutting-edge technology, and extraordinary research. State of Fear is a superb blend of edge-of-your-seat suspense and thought provoking commentary on how information is manipulated in the modern world. From the streets of Paris, to the glaciers of Antarctica to the exotic and dangerous Solomon Islands, State of Fear takes the reader on a rollercoaster thrill ride, all the while keeping the brain in high gear.

Journal Entry 4 by k00kaburra from San Jose, California USA on Monday, September 14, 2009
I enjoy Crichton at times, but I don't think I want to keep this one. The plot just doesn't sound too exciting to me. This book enjoyed a brief visit in San Jose, CA before continuing its travels in carlissa's CD AudiobookBookbox!

Journal Entry 8 by BigJohnLefty at Des Moines, Iowa USA on Tuesday, October 04, 2011
Pulled this one out of booklady331's CD-only AudioBookBox, which arrived over the weekend. Have a lot of experience with this author, going back to reading The Andromeda Strain when I was in the service, and so anticipate hearing this one.....

Journal Entry 9 by BigJohnLefty at Des Moines, Iowa USA on Monday, January 09, 2012
This was pretty good - up to the caliber of the previous work I've listened to (and read, starting with The Andromeda Strain in 1974, when I was in the service) by this prolific author. He raises some very good issues about the need for objectivity in scientific research and cautions against the mixing of science and politics - I paid particularly close attention to his commentary at the end of the book regarding this matter. Plan to release this one into a box soon......
