On its way to teapot.
Arrived today through the post. Thank you!!
Just finished this after two months of slowly working my way through it. Have to say I found it, as with a lot of other 'classics', not particularly enjoyable, slightly depressing, a bit boring, occasionally amusing, and the characters not really that likeable. I couldn't really sympathise with Dorothea, who was kind of the main character and presented as a modern day Saint Theresa. I really didn't like Lydgate and Rosamond either, though I though Mary and Fred were ok.
Brought to the Edinburgh mini-meetup last night.
I caught this in Biblos while on holiday in Edinburgh and have brought it home to England. I picked this one because I thought it would make me look like an intellectual, but having read your reviews, think I may have just bitten off 900 pages of pain. That'll learn me!
