Dear Reader,
My lovely niece loves the American girl character Kaya most of all. I have been trying to learn about the various characters to see what all the fuss is about so I'm looking forward to reading this when the time is right.

This is a most interesting story. It introduces a culture very foreign to the typical "American girl" of today. Kaya is prideful at the expense of her community and hurts with the humiliation this brings to her. But interacting with her elders, she learns perspective. Toward the end, she's able to recognize danger and rescue her sister. After this, I'm sure I'll read the rest of the Kaya stories to share them with my niece.
Somehow this morning, as the heroine Kaya is so natural and innocent, it seemed right to include this in with a RABCK of a book on Shakespeare's Juliet. It's not a must read but I wanted to dedicate the whole RABCK to young girls and this seemed to fit. So happy travels dear book. May you eventually find a next reader.
Wow, Meet Kaya looks like a fun read! I've been out of town on travel, so just received this book today. Thank you for the surprise RABCK of extra books and lovely postcard to add to my postcard collection! I so appreciate it.
I enjoyed reading this book, especially the last section, which talked about the Nez Perce tribe. I was recently in Washington state last month and visited a museum that had talked about the Nez Perce tribe.

I left this book in a bin near the rear entrance of Crushcakes with other used books I saw. I placed an orange Bookcrossing sticky note on the cover letting readers that Meeting Kaya was a traveling book.
