This is awesome. I love crime and thriller novels too.

12th August 2009. I was in Nottingham with Manchester hardcore band All We Have as their "merch girl" for the evening. (Professionally, no sexual innuendo intended.) AWH were playing with local support Directions, Almost Home and US straightedge band The Effort at the Chameleon Arts Centre. Ric, AWH vocalist, picked up the book somewhere near the vegetarian cafe whilst we were loading up the gear to go home, and handed it to me. (Because the AWH boys being boys have little interest in reading unless it's Star Wars or Viz.) By the way, the show was immense.

I have taken the book back with me to Manchester. I hope that's OK. I'm reading it now. It will be left somewhere cool and dry for a lucky reader in the city centre sometime soon. And I so hope a scabby tramp scally doesn't steal it and try to exchange it for pennies at Cash Generator...

I was going to leave this book in the city limits, and even though I feel the story would be more thrilling if adapted to the big screen by Michael Bay, it still deserves better than Manchester's infamously wet weather. So, I gave it to my friend Kris and he took it back to Australia with him. He failed to mention exactly where he left it but the photograph he sent shows the book on a little wooden bench next to a huge metal bridge in a city by a river on a warm, sunny day. Jealous.

That huge metal bridge was Sydney harbour bridge. I left on a bench at Circular Quay when I was on my lunch.

Hope it found a happy home.
