Journal Entry 1 by wingPlum-crazywing from Brighouse, West Yorkshire United Kingdom on Monday, September 21, 2009
One winter's afternoon Stephen Foster walked into a dog re-homing centre with the intention of picking up a retired greyhound. Instead, he acquired an abandoned Lurcher pup. Foster's knowledge of dogs was so vague that he had to look up 'lurcher' in the reference work 'The Giant Book of the Dog', to find out what sort of animal was coming to join the family. His research counted for little. The new arrival did not conform to any known breed standard or any known standard that might be considered dog-normal. A hilarious, heart rending account of one man's attempt to turn a psychotic wild animal into something resembling a domestic pet.

Ha ha! What a surprise; picked up in the Forget-me-Not Charity Shop in Brighouse as part of my first challenge, the Sept 2010 "You're Such an Animal"
Any coincidence that it was released there by Plum-Crazy (thank you! again)!!
Funnily enough, I'm going to release it, not as as "dog" but as "hen" (Stephen)
Good luck, Plum-Crazy with your Sapphire releases - looking forward to October's. Wonder what that will be. Maybe I can help . . ? . . .

Seem to be having problems with the website (well, I have only been a member for 4 months and still have loads to learn). Anyway, I caught this book, and will release within September; probably to people I know who actually like animals!! (Not that I don't - it's just that animals don't seem to like me and as soon as I get near them, they always try to kill me) [mainly horses, dogs, cats, snakes, elephants, giraffes and monkeys!!]. Please don't introduce me to Dr. Dolittle . . . he so wouldn't be one of my best friends.
