Thinking of You

From the back cover:
"When Ginny Holland's daughter Jem heads off to university, Ginny can't believe how much she misses her. Ginny knows it's the perfect time to kick-start a whole new life. But fresh beginnings can be tricky, especially when the first gorgeous man you've clapped eyes on in years accuses you of shoplifting. For heaven's sake, it's not as if she meant to steal the peacock..."
I bought the book at the Pilton Flower Show for 50 p. Just for bookcrossing purposes :-)

The book was bit of a disappointment. It was just soooo predictable; you just knew who is going to have a happy end to their story and who was the bad guy/girl. It kind of had all the necessary ingredients to be a funny chick lit story but somehow it promised more than delivered. There were also far too many characters so it got a bit boring at times as nothing seemed to happen. It wasn't a complete waste of time, though. I was sligthly amused.

Well, I was the one to grab this one immediately from the meet-up table :). I have been wanting to try some Jill Mansell's books for some time now, as I have noticed so many other chick-lit liking boocrossers reading them. There must be something in her books as they are so popular. Thanks, em64!
Well, I have just finished my first book by Jill Mansell and am having mixed thoughts about it. I usually do not always dislike a book because it is somewhat predictable, but this was simply put too much of it. You were able to guess nearly everything. And I found some relationships described in the book very irritating. As a whole the book anyway had its humorous moments so I am still willing to give an another Mansell book a try.

What a nice surprise! I'm looking forward to reading this, it was just what I needed on this grey monday!
I agree with previous readers, the story is predictable. This is not the best book Mansell has written in my opinion. But I enjoyed reading it none the less!
