Orhan Pamuk.... should be Awesome Pamuk.
This is just a great piece of fiction, well written and engaging. A thoroughly timely and honest look into the world inhabited by the residents and visitors of a small Turkish town. Gently humourous and often melancholic, I don't think this book will be to everyone's taste especially as it's 426 pages are densely packed so this is a weighty read, but I do think the book is worth the effort.
I will be looking for more by this author, I am finding myself drawn to Istambul at the moment.

Arrived today - I look forward to reading this one.
Thanks all for sharing this one. I liked the style and plot but did at times find it hard going - I found I could only read 2-3 chapters at a time so it felt like I was reading this one for ages. Will be on the lookout for other books by this author.
katrinat has asked to be skipped as she's read this book before so I will get it off to ilotropio tomorrow. Thanks again.
