Cameron lives in the shadow of his older brother and best friend Ruben, even developing a crush on Ruben's latest ex-girlfriend and secretly stalking her. Then Ruben starts dating Octavia and Cameron falls hard for her, waiting for his brother to dump her so he can make his own move.
This was a raging let down after reading The Book Thief. Yes aimed at different readers but there just didn't seem to be a good plot or story building, and felt like a waste of time to read!

Received in the post today, Thank you. After reading the book thief - which I thought to be probably the best book of 2009, I ahve been itching to read more by Zusac. I am off work ill today so will start it immediately.

REad over the past couple of days. I really enjoyed the book - Zusak has a certain way with words thet seem to hold the reader. I will definately look out for more of his work.
Thanks for this wishlist book, mafarrimond! I am looking forward to it. This is the sequel to Fighting Ruben Wolfe, which I've read. I found The Book Thief to be massively overrated, but I enjoy Zusak's other books.
Enjoyed this one. I like Zusak's style in his earlier YA books.

I loved this book! I haven't read anything else by Zuzak yet although I have the Book Thief on MtTBR, so this was my first experience of his work.
I thought his writing was beautiful and Cameron's struggle to find his place really moved me. I'm giving this a nine rather than a ten only because I found the end somewhat disappointing, but until about the last chapter I was totally blown away. Thanks again, klaradyn, for passing this on to me!
I enjoyed this book so much that I'm tempted to hang on to it, but I'm going to give to a friend at work who I think may also enjoy it.
