Just finished reading this book, was a great story, though it wasn't what I was expecting. I was shocked at the way that the girls were treated, although I guess I shouldn't be knowing how woman are treated across the world. I never think of Korea as a place that would have a town like this in it.
This has been added to the Contemporary Asian VBB hopefully someone will pick it out and send it on its way.

Beautifully written, but a truly horrifying story. Excellent, but I'm not sure I'd even had started reading it, had I known from the beginning what I know now. Very depressing to think how inhumanely people may start to act when the circumstances allow and/or facilitate it.

This book will now travel to Tsjara as part of the East Asian VBB.

Arrived here safely. Thanks Annimanni (and for the card too)! Sounds like an interesting read ^-^

I guess enjoyed it not really the right word.. (the book deals with prostitution, rape, violence, racism, etc), maybe engrossing? Anyway, I couldn't put it down. The story is well written and drew me in right from the start. Even though the characters live in depressing circumstances, the story somehow doesn't feel too heavy (as in that I don't want to read any further). I'm not sure what to think of the ending though.

Thanks to all the previous readers who have sent this book on its way and thanks to Tsjara for posting it to me for the Reverse Tag Game.
It looks a bit worse for wear, something may even have been eating it! But it's still readable and I'm looking forward to it :)
