James Lee Burke!! AWRIGHT!!

Oh my gosh. This is the *longest* book. I'm on page two hundred and seventeen, and I swear, they must've killed, beaten or otherwise harassed about twenty people so far. Normally I love reading about New Orleans and Dave's background, but the little details are driving me crazy in this one. I noticed he started out saying "partner" and switched up to "podna" later on in the book. Perhaps this was a proofing error? Usually Dave says "podna" from the get-go.

Frankly, I'm so turned off by all the evil and violence, I've lost interest in knowing if Tee Bobby is the rapist/killer or not.
