The Gathering
3 journalers for this copy...
I started this, but am afraid I didn't manage to finish it. I just did not feel any connection with the characters and felt the whole thing ws moving along too slowly to keep my interest.
I hope you enjoy it more than I did!

I came across the book at a family gathering(ironically as the novel describes a large Irish family)at Easter weekend 2010. My sisters had found it in Mid Wales near the Elan resevoirs on a bench on a footpath. It was well wrapped and dry. I have brought it back to North wales, Anglesey and am reading it at the moment. It does move slowly but is well observed, though the confessional mode of first person narration is not to everyone's taste. I will send it on its way when I have finished it.

I found this on holiday in the south of the Isle of Anglesey on a picnic table. An absorbing book, which was beautifully decriptive. Slow but with feeling!
Enjoyed it but could only read it in bits - my time management - not the book's fault.
Should be read.
