I love this verbal presentation of historical mathematical concepts. It makes abstract concepts like calculus and differential equations easier to understand and less daunting than conventional textbooks or some math histories. It makes mathematical 'jargon' seem easily explained. The last chapter forcasts the emergence of more female mathematicians. In depth selected biographies emphasize the human behind the mathematics.
