Journal Entry 1 by FeistyPom2Love from Carpinteria, California USA on Wednesday, July 22, 2009
I bought this novel for a $1.99 in the bargain book section at Barnes & Noble. I read this book for the "Olympic (Reading) Challenge for London 2012" (http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/6/5665463/3) and am I glad that I did! Josip Novakovich is a really good writer. This is one of the best books I've read for 2009. All of the stories are really good, so it is difficult to pick a favorite. However, I found "Ribs" to be haunting. The "59th Parallel" was humorous. I also enjoyed "Night Guests", "Neighbors", "Tchaikovsky's Bust" & "The Bridge Under the Danube" all to be very good reads. So, which is your favorite short story?
