Journal Entry 2 by ApoloniaX at Summer Gift, A RABCK -- Controlled Releases on Monday, July 20, 2009
This Book along with another Morpurgo book, "The Wreck of the Zanzibar" arrived today to my home. I am so happy and also still suprised. :-)
It is my first gift that I got in the scope of Summer Gift Giving (2009). Thank you so much.
Update: 2009.08.29.
Beautiful story about a boy and his wolf, their friendship, their common trip to America. It is simple to write that they lived in the forest, but it could be so hard to do it. It is a bravery thing for a child. I liked the idea how the wolf was disguised as a "dog". I liked the captain as how he protected the boy and his wolf against the angry crowd.

Cool! Thanks so much, Hakkalina, I haven't read this Morpurgo book yet! Maybe I will turn it into a bookray when finished :)
This was an excellent little story, as Morpurgo's books usually are. I would have liked it to be a bit longer, and to read more about Robbie and Charlie :) The illustrations were lovely as well.
Will now become a bookray. So far the participants are:

Thanks for the book, I will get to it as soon as I can, I seem to have had a few of rings/rays arrive all at once!
1 Dec 09 - What a great little book, the illustrations are lovely, it only took me a couple of hours to read! My only comment would be shame it was a shame it did not have a bit more detail and was a bit longer.

Arrived today, many thanks kingfan30.
Another lovely story from my favourite children's author. From an adult point of view, yes I agree it would have made a wonderful longer story with lots more detail. But I thought it was a really good length for emerging readers, excellent vocabularly and an interesting and varied story to keep the young reader engrossed.
I will try to find another reader soon.

I read this a couple of times, and enjoyed it both times immensely! I really enjoy how Morpurgo has written at least one other (The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips) book starting out with an older character being the pull into the story.
Thanks so much for sending me this!

Was surprised, then delighted to 'find' the book outside Wellington restaurant/cafe - One Red Dog. Have returned home from holiday to Christchurch, where I intend to read this book and pass it on!
