I found this a compelling story and enjoyed very much the historical side of it.

The book was on to me by my son. Both me and my husband hugely enjoyed the book. The period of time it was set in was interesting. Some of the scenes I found harrowing. I am afraid I am going to keep this book and recommend it to our book club.
