Amir wants his dad's approval but gets jealous of the attention he pays to the servant's son-his friend Hassan. Hassan always looks out for Amir and is determined to help him win that approval in the kite tournament. But what happens to Hassan destroys the friendship and exposes them to horrors they did not imagine. Years later Amir seeks redemption for his actions.

Fantastic book, one of my best 3 of the year! It made me smile and it made me cry and you can't help but feel sympathy for everything Hassan suffers. Very moving and wonderfully written.
