9 out of 10

Thomas, who is fraught with neuroses, meets his psychoanalyst colleagues at the Pancake House and Bar for their annual analysts' pancake party. He describes every action of his collegues in the context of his convoluted beliefs about their mental quirks, and in these descriptions he reveals his own quirks -- and "quirk" is an understatement. As the book progresses, Thomas takes leave of reality more and more obviously, all the while describing the psychological failings of others. His own break with reality is the thing he could not verify.

This book is funny in a weird kinda way. I enjoyed it.
