Single White Vampire (Argeneau Vampires, Book 3)
28 journalers for this copy...
From the back cover:
The Family Argeneau Series
SWM__"Lucern." Successful biographer of family, books recently categorized as "paranormal romances." Something of a recluse. Hates crowds, aggressive women. Doesn't like sunbathing, garlicky dinners or religious symobls. Likes old-fashioned values; spicy Mexican dishes; warm, nice-smelling necks; and plump red lips. Stronger than ten men and can vanish in the blink of an eye. Currently unaware he's seeking a woman to share eternity.
SWF__"Kate C. Leever." Newest editor of Romance at Rooundhouse Publishing. Perky, fun. Has recently discovered a legacy author just dying to be broken out. In fact, her career could take off from it. (The tall, dark, handsome writer just needs to be taken to several romance conventions and introduced to his fans...and stopped from acting so strange in public.) Dislikes "difficult, rude, obnoxious, pig-headed writers." Currently unaware she's met the man of her wildest dreams.
OH, DEAR. Single White Vampire
I have an extra copy of this book, so I am placing this one in my availables.

Believe it or not, I just got this book today and I was completely surprised as I didn't remember signing up for the bookring. I will get to it as soon as I can. I am reading a very long book right now and if it takes me very long to get to this one, I will just send it on before I read it.
This was a really entertaining book. There were acutally points in the book that I laughed out loud. Luc is a great character. Thanks for sharing in a bookring. I sent it off yesterday to the next in line. Enjoy. I did.
I had completely forgotten about this Bookray so it was a nice surprise! I will read soon and get it moving again. Thanks for sharing sfogs!
This book is a lot of fun! This series is full of humor, romance and interesting characters. If you are looking for something dark and spooky in the vampire genre, find something else, this isn't it! ☺ ☺ ☺
I have the address for Vampirequeen, so I will be mailing this in a couple of days.
Planning to mail to VampireQueen tomorrow. Enjoy the book!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I liked this book and couldn't stop reading. It's a bit ultra-light and over-romantic, but hé, it's simple vampire romance. Will make a fine and entertaining read as long as you don't expect reading the next nobelprize winner. Had a few good laughs, was enchanted by Mr. Argeneau (who wouldn't be ...) , felt sympathy for Mrs. Kate C. Leever.
I read it in two days, and it does have some 370 pages or so. It actually IS a pageturner. Will I remember having read it in two years from now ? I don't think so. Was it a waste of 2 precious days? It certainly wasn't that either. Witty, sexy, funny, vampire-entertainment. No more, no less. I'm sending it on it's way to Australia next wednesday 2/11/10.

I look forward to reading the book, and have already read a couple of chapters. It looks funny.
I notice I am the last on the list. If I finish the book before the weekend I can pass it onto another BookCrosser who will be visiting. Otherwise, I'll take it along to the next local BookCrossing meet. After 11 journallers it would not do for it to go wild.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This book was a fast, light easy read. I enjoyed the story, but not enough to seek out another in the series. I kept comparing it to the Twilight books, which I enjoyed despite the appallingly weak, insipid main female character, and the annoying chauvinist vampire. What I liked about this book, and for which I rated it higher than I might otherwise, was the strong female lead in Kate, and the way she didn’t let a potentially sexist vampire – Lucern – get it all his own way. In fact because of her strength of character, Lucern didn’t come across to me as at all sexist, just rude (at least to start with). I found the love scenes tiresome and I skimmed, but then bodice-ripping romance novels are not my thing. I loved Lucern’s family, especially his mother. I pictured her in all elegance sweeping into a room and dominating it. The amount of blood Lucern needed to drink in one sitting seemed rather excessive. That’s a lot of liquid and I presume his stomach is not bigger than ours.
The title “Single White Vampire” is catchy, but does not really fit with the story. Neither does the bat on the cover - the vampires in this book don't turn into bats.
I will be passing this along to Kermit58 to take back to Sydney to read. I’ll get it back at Christmas and offer it to our local BookCrossing group in the New Year.

Overall, it’s a good entertainment, somewhat very predictable and average in the chicklit genre. Having said that, I did find it quite long to get into the heart of the story, like the author wanted to delay the inevitable… which can be guess very easily at the beginning of the story. I don’t know if I’ll read other novels by this writer but I’m keeping the name in mind if I want a good entertainment!
I have the address of the next reader, so the book will go out this week!

This was, as I expected, a light fun read. I didn't actually realise it was a "bodice ripper" type romance - I have to admit this is a genre I normally avoid like the plague, despite the fact i read every chick lit I can get hold of (hypocritical? Who me?!). I have to admit I was skimming through the sex scenes by the end. Although some of it was more amusing than hot - Kate's breasts were like binoculars? Seriously?!
However the vampire twist saved it. Good characters and just easy to read and undemanding. I don't think I will be hunting down the authors other books in a hurry, but I am glad I had the chance to read this.
Sending to innocencelost next week!

Pretty quick read. It's been quite a while since I read a book of this type- sort of light-hearted paranormal romance. I may have grown out of it somewhat as the first two thirds of the book just felt like fluff. The last third was also rather fluffy, but I did have some good chuckles in the scene in the hotel suite with the wild rush for condoms, including the "stop pointing that at me" aspect. The tablecloth gag just seemed dumb to me (in the "look, isn't this hysterically funny?" sort of vein).

I really liked the first half of the book, there were some lough-out-loud moments, and I enjoyed the vampire storyline. After the romance things got going between the main characters, the book really took a turn for the worse, and the last few chapters were torturously boring and plain weird! The characters seemed to lose all their personality, and just act silly.

I enjoyed the first half of the book, when Lucern was irritated by Kate. But once it hit the conference the scenarios got stranger and instead of being quirky situations the storyline began to get annoying. I mean,do people really make such a song and dance about helping someone whose costume is caught in a table cloth?
A light, holiday read.

received this book in the mail today as part of the Halloween exchange. I'm having a hard time deciding what to do with this copy. I have read another copy and was just going wild release this to trick or treaters parents during my great Halloween release, but after seeing the books long bookcrossing history, I don't know if I can. It is definitely a well-loved copy and is barely staying together so I think I will attempt to wild release it, but if there are no takers on Halloween then I will try to find a bookcrosser for it. This book is the most traveled and most journaled book I have ever gotten.
