Happy reading and Happy Book Crossing!
The beginning of this book reminded me a lot of his other book, The Measure of a Man. I like the idea of sharing his thoughts on certain issues with his great granddaughter. He is very articulate and the two Poitier books I have read have both been great.

My family member listened to the book and gave it back. Adding to Carlissa's CD bookbox.
This book enjoyed a brief visit in San Jose, California before continuing its travels with the CD Only Bookbox!
I'm pulling this one from the bookbox. Looks interesting and he certainly seems like he'll be a good reader -- The book won the Grammy for the Best Spoken Word Album in 2000.
Listening to the audiobook (read by the author) is absolutely the best way to enjoy this book. Poitier has a fabulous voice and hearing the nuances of his memories through his own telling and the personalization of these letters. I enjoyed learning more about Poitier's life. I had no knowledge of his background or any of his history beyond having seen him in movies. Highly recommended listening experience.
Mailed to indygo88 from iwillrejoice Audio VBB. Enjoy!
Got it! Thanks, Joanna!
