Journal Entry 1 by Jannike from -- wild release somewhere in Oslo, Oslo fylke Norway on Wednesday, June 03, 2009
A new version of Jane Austens novel, where Zombies have invaded Brittain and the Bennet girls are educated in martial arts. I must admit that I prefer the original story. My recommendation is: Do not read this if you have not already read "Pride and Prejudice" in the original version. It is quite entertaining if you are comfortable with reading about zombies.

Journal Entry 4 by Tanumine on Wednesday, July 15, 2009
Oh my word! This is such an enjoyable book! Absolutely LOVE it! The zombie twist works quite nice, though a few episodes are a bit too much to be credible. But don't get me wrong, it's an absolute MUST to read if you are a true fan of J. Austen's works. And this book wouldn't be as funny if you haven't read the original story :-)

Journal Entry 8 by LeishaCamden from Alna bydel, Oslo fylke Norway on Sunday, August 02, 2009
I've finished the book now, finished it on Friday. What can I say other than to just sign off on what Tanumine wrote in her JE. :-) I totally agree on everything she said. :-) This book is a total riot. As a huge Austen fan going back years I think this may be the best spinoff of her books I've ever read. Certainly it's the most creative one. The whole zombie theme works - for the most part - brilliantly, and I love what Grahame-Smith has done with the characters. Some of it I do think is going a bit too far ... like what happens with Wickham. That stretched my credulity a bit. But all in all this was a fantastic read, hilarious and mostly well written. Absolutely a must read for any Austen fan. Thanks for sharing, Jannike!! It was a wonderful read and I hope you'll get lots of readers for this ring. This book deserves to be very widely read. And I cannot wait for the movie version!! This book just begs to be turned into a movie - in fact I think I've 'seen' the movie already as I was reading ... ;-)

I'm not sure what I've let myself in for, but the other BC'ers spoke highly of this novel, so I thought I'd have a go.

Mayby there is a code to zombie novels that I don't grasp. Tender flesh and succulent brains, heads flying all over the place and Lady Catherine a lethal Mary Poppins. I admit the novel had some amusing aspects, but I much prefer the original any day.

Big supprise in my mail box today, thank you Sota48. Going to start reading ... NOW! WOW! Funny book with some hillarious aspects to it. The taught of a head chopping Elisabeth Bennet is rather disturbing, but it actually works. However do think the author could have managed to get the zombie aspect of the story more integrated with the original novel. As it is now the zombies are like "ad ons", they are just something that is there without anyone contemplating about it at all. Your friends and families turning in to zombies? No problem; chop their heads of and keep smiling!

Got this book today from my penfriend in Denmark, she got it through a bookgame. I have tried to get her to join Bookcrossing many times but she always says no. Too bad as she reads so much:) But it was so sweet of her to mail the book to me once she had read it:) Great to see that this book is so well travelled:)
