I decided to pick this up because it's been so many years since I read any King, and this short story collection from 2002 has gotten good reviews. I thought it was excellent; there was only one tale out of the 14 that failed to hold my interest at all (The Death of Jack Hamilton), while the others all ranged from very good to extremely good. Stephen King is still a master storyteller, and I really think some of his best work is in short story form.
A few favorites here included The Man In the Black Suit, in which an old man recalls the summer day he met the Devil in the Maine woods; The Little Sisters of Eluria, set in the Gunslinger's Dark Tower universe; LT's Theory of Pets, which had me laughing out loud (only at first); and Riding the Bullet, in which a young man must choose whether he or his mother takes a ride with death. As I said, though, just about every story here is very strong and (being classic King) very entertaining. I sincerely hope the next reader enjoys this as much as I did!
