This book I will give to as many of my friends as I can, to read then make a journal entry. After it has been to all my friends it will be put up for bookray/ never ending RABCK, to spread the message of Aids and the children left behind.
Good story. A sad yet hopeful one, the story of the children left behind.

A fantastic book, very hard to out down. Have you ever wondered how other young folk live in poor countries.... then read this book. You will be grateful for everything you have. A chilling account of the horrors we do not understand.

Arrived with me this morning after a long trek across the seas from New Zealand. Thank you very much to Sfogs for sending this my way - a lovely pre christmas gift and I've never heard of this book before so will look forward to reading it and will find it a good home afterwards as requested.
Edit:
Lovely story dealing with difficult subject matter and something which will no doubt engage adults and children alike.
This book is now travelling as a bookray as requested by sfogs!

A lovely charming books dealing sensitively with a difficult issue. I really felt connected with Binti and wanted to see how things would turn out for her and her family. The only thing that I think could have improved this book would have been if the negative conceptions had been challenged even more. I'd definatly recommend this book for teens and adults alike.

A very touching story through the eyes and voice of a child. Aids is not only a health problem but a complicated social problem as well which destroys families, people's lives and the life and prosperity of a whole society...
I like the way the story ends, it gives us hope for the future and teaches us not to despair no matter what.

This has arrived safely in the Swiss Alps, where it is currently very rainy! I hope to get to this soon but after a few work-related reads which take priority. This being said, I've used The Breadwinner by this author for classes, so maybe this will be one I can use in the future. Thanks so much for sending and for making this available.

A moving little story - I look forward to being able to use this with a class. Chandra's Secret is another one with the same theme, for a slightly older audience which might fit nicely with this. Thanks so much for making this available and drawing my attention to it.
I've PMed for the next address.

Such a lovely read, very moving and such a serious topic! I really went through different emotions reading this story and was so pleased at how the ending came about...(trying not to ruin it for anyone that reads this before they read the book i'll keep it mysterious!!). I was glad to have read this book and discover the perspective of the children within the story.
