Hi and welcome to Bookcrossing.

The book is now yours to read, keep, or pass it on. It's previous readers would love to know where you found it, what you thought of it and where it travels to next. If you don't want to join you can do this anonymously, but if you would like to know what happens to the book after you have passed it on please join. It doesn't cost anything, it's private and it's interesting to travel with the book, around the world.

If you do join, I hope you'll put my name down - candy-is-dandy - as your referring member.

Interweaving four narratives, this novel explores the ambitions and disappointments of Philip II as he lies on his deathbed, the clandestine origins of the slave trade, the extermination of the French Huguenot colony in Florida, and the experiences of a common soldier on Columbus's second voyage.
