Amazon Review:
For Juliet, the "life", or the world of prostitution, started off as a game. But then the "game" took over. First she became addicted to the fast, constant, easy money, then to turning tricks into "sugar daddies".
As Juliet begins to heal from her life as prostituted teen, she meets other sex industry survivors. Their similarities change her perspective on the sex industry for good. For most sexe industry survivors, prostitution is a re-enactment of childhood sexual exploitation.

Like Juliet, these women mistankenly believed that prostitution would help them regain the power that had been stolen from them. Ultimately, this decision often proved to be soul-destroying, self-destructive, and for far too many, lethal.

Hi. I have to say I was really not a fan of this book. I feel it was poorly written. I was also upset that it was a work of fiction. I thought it was misleading.

I feel bad for saying this, but I thought that it wasn't that interesting to read. I kept with it and followed through to the end, and it also bothered me that it was "fusion fiction" which, I'm assuming is part non fiction, and part fiction. If you are going to call something "Memoirs," you should at least put underneath: a novel... or something that will give you the clue that it's not true.
I also felt that it jumped around a bit too much. You never got to find out what happened with her soon to be husband.
Some of the prostitute's stories were interesting, and it was intriguing to view the sex industry as something you have an "addition to," but the author is not a good writer. Maybe she is taking her technical job way too far. There is no feeling in it.
Thank you for sharing Mikavr! I will be sending it on to Fluffy Owl tomorrow!

Oh my goodness. If I could, I would claim back the minutes of my life I have wasted in reading only a few pages of this book!

I agree with the above comments that FusionFiction(TM) is odd and misleading. The book is part memoirs, part fiction, so the reader never really knows how to approach the story. The writing is awful (kind of like 'I did this. Then I did that. Then this happened') and is possibly one of the worst things I have ever read in terms of style.

Posting it off to Greece later this week, glad to see the back of it!

As some of the previous readers have noted, this is indeed a peculiar narrative. By the time I got through the first 10 pages I could tell something doesn't read right.
Either the narrator is a split personality, or the passages are written by more than one person and spliced together, or the author is copypasting pages from her teenage diary into her contempary memoir, or... I don't know why, but it's all a jumble, some passages are naive and badly written with no clear vision, some appear to better composed/edited with a sense of purpose to the narration...
I also resent the fact that so early on in the text she states her summarizing observations/generalizations, rather than let us follow her life's journel step by step until we arrive at the conclusions she does.
I'm going to set this aside for a while so I can read a couple of other BC rings I have with me now, and then I'll give it a second chance.
