Journal Entry 1 by camis from Tharston, Norfolk United Kingdom on Monday, May 25, 2009
When Father mysteriously goes away, the children and their mother leave their happy life in London to go and live in a small cottage in the country. 'The Three Chimneys' lies beside a railway track - a constant source of enjoyment to all three. They make friends with the Station Master and Perks the Porter, as well as the jovial 'Old Gentleman' who waves to them everyday from the train. But the mystery remains: where is Father, and will he ever return? Classic children's story. Sending as a RABCK to a fellow BCer

What a lovely book with old-times-charm (written 1906), nice children and little adventures! Some modern kids might find this a bit boring and uneventful but for me it was like a breath of fresh air :)

Journal Entry 6 by myrtillus at Pori, Satakunta Finland on Saturday, August 20, 2011
The Railway children takes the reader back to time, when life was much simpler than today and when you cared for other people. It is a wonderful story about three clever and creative children, who decided never to give up hope. Enjoyable reading.
