10 out of 10

I was glad that I bought books #5 and #6 together. If I had finished #5 without having this one here lined up, I would not have been happy. The books can be read independently from each other -- there is always enough explaining done to clue in the uninitiated about the general goings-on, but the teaser at the end of the fifth book was just too tempting. So I picked this on here up within an hour of finishing the other one. Good fun.

I am not going to post a synopsis, it takes too much fun away and spoils the surprises. I have even stopped reading the back of the cover, just so I won't get tipped off too much. This is all I am going to say: Kitty is back from Vegas, but not in the clear -- trouble followed hot on her heals! This series is still going strong. Not much happening in terms of character development, but the action is still strong and the plotlines entertaining.

Bookray, shipping order so far:

Please journal when you get the book, so we know it's safe. Check with the next one if they still want the book, before sending it on. Let us know, when you sent it on and a little comment how you liked it would be great! Please try not to keep the book longer than 4 to 6 weeks. And if life gets in the way and it does take longer, let us know. Snail mail is fine. And most of all - enjoy the book!

I enjoyed this book quite a bit more than #5. The story and the action picks up right away as trouble follows Kitty back to Denver from Las Vegas.

Character development still seems a bit weak, though part of the reason is the difficulty in trying to flesh out other characters while writing in first person. It can be done, yet takes a lot of skill.

This is going in the mail today, along with Book #5 to Omly

8 out of 10

Although I wasn't crazy about the Las Vegas storyline in Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand, I did like the plot point it brought up in this book. If I think about these two books together as one story arch that the publishers perhaps wanted broken up into 2 novels, the slowness of the previous book seems a little less annoying.

I won't give away who/what the spirit is, but I was quite pleased with the result. I felt that the storyline with TJ's brother didn't go anywhere compared to what I was expecting though, which was slightly disappointing.
