I found this in coffee#1 today and thought it was the perfect size for a train journey to Southampton this weekend. I have never read any Jack Higgins before so I am looking forward to it.
I started this on a train, and finished it on a bus, all on the same day. It is an easy read, with the story progressing at a quick pace. Maybe I was unduly influenced by the picture on the front of the book (different to the one shown), but when reading it I was imagining a black and white film, film noir style (until the helicopter appeared).
At first it felt like I had missed the beginning of the story, but that was just the style, and not unpleasant. I was a bit disappointed by the ending. I do not want to give anything away, I will just say that things were wrapped up too easily for my liking.
I would read others by the same author.
