Meh. That's how I feel about this one. The story, itself, is excellently creative. The characters and writing style are sort of contrived and too easy. Sci-Fi is fantastical and is, of course, not meant to be taken completely seriously. However, it can still be written with wonder and in a way that captures the imagination. While this is a decent story, that’s what it’s missing: the ability to capture the imagination.

Still, I am sort of (sort of) interested to see what happens next. Since this is the first of a three part series, (and I just happen to own parts two and three), I'll go ahead and hold on to it to see if the other two are better. If they are, I'll keep the whole series in my pc.
