Joe Simpson is a wonderful writer and deserves to be known for more than just the best seller 'Touching The Void'. This is a great fictional story about two climbers with differing approaches to life, but who both feel a emotional (and, for Jimmy, a spiritual) connection to the high mountainous regions they visit.

Picked up the book on 27/07/11. Was not keen on it to start with, too much spiritual stuff, but warmed to it when it became more in touch with the real world, as most of us know it !!I certainly managed to finish it and quite enjoyed the read at the end of the day and was surprised and impressed by some of the writing.
The plan is to leave the book on the top of Beinn Dubhchraig (978 metres), near Crianlarich, on 07/08/11 when I will be accompanying someone who will be completing a round of the Munros.

Due to a combination of poor weather and champagne celebrations on
07/08/11 I forgot to leave the book on Beinn Dubhchraig. However, it has now been left on 15/08/11 on the summit of Carn Liath, the first Munro on the round of Beinn a'Ghlo near Blair Atholl.
Enjoy the read.

Found on the summit cairn of Carn Liath, the first Munro on the round of Beinn a'Ghlo on 16/8/11.
We will be leaving the book somewhere on Dartmoor this weekend, 27/8/11.
Not decided exactly where yet, but you will have an enjoyable walk to find it.
I think Bookcrossing is a great idea and am looking forward to finding more, next trip is the Atlas mountains in Morocco, so we'll keep our eyes open. R&C
