Bought at the Christian Laymen Corps Thrift Store in Greensburg, Pa., to read and release in the wild.
The sheer effort it took to write this book is mind-boggling: each letter of each word of each sentence of each paragraph was was painstakingly chosen, one at a time, with the blink of an eye—practically the only body part the author could control after a devastating stroke at the age of 43 left him a prisoner of locked-in syndrome. Jean-Dominique Bauby's memoir offers a unique glance into what it is like to be trapped inside one's physical body, yet be free. Inspiring, yet sad.
Sending to a paperbackswap.com member in Tennessee. Enjoy!
