This is the 5th book in the Elvis Cole/Joe Pike private detective series. I didn't think it was quite as good as the previous novels but still quite an amusing read. This time Elvis Cole has to investigate a famous actress's past. She was adopted and needs to know the medical history of her birth parents and family without the trauma of having to meet them too. The case takes Elvis into the streets of New Orleans and the bayous of Cajun Country where he uncovers more than he anticipated.

His weird friend Joe Pike didn't even feature until the story unfolded over half way through the book!
