some things are best met with a good sense of humor!
this is a very cute book that illustrates some of the symptoms of "memopaws" along with helpful solutions.
ie: "Problem obsession with youthful appearance Solution boycott mass media" but you really gotta see the pictures to enjoy!

I know y'all will get a kick out of this book. The book ray looks like this: SalDragski Texas ladyofunicorns New Mexico PalmersPal California Amberlee17 California Mojosmom Illinois Kayters Georgia PHC Virginia gategrl Connecticut (go Huskies!!) GoryDetails New Hampshire mfa Portugal leitora Portugal miosotis Portugal (added 7/3/03) fflloorr Portugal (added 3/8/04) tho Portugal (added 3/9/04) Winkiemoon Portugal (added 3/9/04) Elista Portugal (added 4/6/04) 6/2 sorry for the delay...the book hit the mail today. (had to let a friend take read it!)
Thanks Agrace for making a ray! I received this in the mail today with a few other bookrings/rays...they will be read in the order I opened them. ~smile~
Cute book..though I am not up to that point yet some of the stuff is really funny! Will be sending this off next weekend to the next person on the list!
Received this delight yesterday and read it in one sitting. Sniggered all the way through it, much to my cats' disgust. A shakey, quakey Meowmy is hard to sleep on, apparently.
I just removed my e-mails concerning this book, figuring it had gotten lost in the shuffle, and lo and behold, it appeared on my front step today. This is cute and ready to go to the next person.
Very cute pictures here, and some entertaining notes from previous readers; not sure which I like best, although I did get a kick out of the solution for "Decreased sexual desire" and "Increased sexual desire" [for both, the book suggests "Younger boyfriend" ;-)]. The "mood swing" gauge is a wonderful idea - too bad nobody's invented one yet...
The proposed solution for "Boredom" seems most appropriate for me - even though I don't suffer from boredom; the book suggests "new hobbies," and shows a cheerful lady-cat studying taxidermy. She's working on a mouse, but there are a couple of human heads mounted on the wall behind her! ;-)
This will be on its way to mfa in Portugal tomorrow...
it has harrived safely. the cover picture is absolutely delicious... i'll read it soon, and i'll have to let mom have a look too - she'll love it. now the question is... i'm 29, so why did i join such a ring? i'm glad i did, though :)

My two daughters and I read this funny book, that's why I took so long to mail it on. I saw myself on many pages and my daughters, who are 23 and 22, found the pictures immensely funny - just wait till they get there!!! Mailed to Pequete today. Thanks for sharing!
Received yesterday, thanks Metropolitan. Read today during breakfast - really funny. Thanks Agrace for sharing it with us! I'm now PMing Manuel for his address.
Maybe, men can have a better understanding of their friends/mates at that time of their lives. I didn't agree with "obsession with the occult" -> "total immersion". In my opinion, God is the "excellent road" for those "pathways" (Leviticus 19:31). Segue para Cristina-pt.
Received it yesterday and read it in one breath! Really cute pictures, great sugestions! :o) It made me laugh, and we always need that, rigth? ;)
Just a quick note to add that Noggy didn't answer my PM's, Charlie03 is missing for a long time and Sossap asked to be skipped. So, along to Mishka-bookworm!
Enjoyed every page! I love cats and I recognize the symptoms from my mum, so... I especially liked the "younger boyfriend" solutions. I'll send it to gata as soon as I get her adress. Thanks a lot for the opportunity to read/see this funny book!!!

Boas leituas!
I really liked this book. All the solutions make perfect sende, though i'll have to wait some years to put them into practice...
I'll send it as soon as I get frangi's address. Thanks

Finally my turn has arrived!! I've already turned some pages and the illustrations seem great! I won't keep it for long. Thank you for sending it, QuenSissi, and thank you all for sharing the book!
Journal Entry 65 by Frangipani04 on Monday, May 22, 2006
I really loved this little piece of... art? literature? great humour? I don't know how to best describe the book, but I certainly enjoyed having it with me! And knowing that it is such a well-travelled book made the experience even more enriching!
I had a lot of fun going through these pages! The comments from other bookcrossers add a lot to the book! Thank you all for sharing it and for having kept it travelling!
Hopefully, the book will continue its journey in the next couple of days!
19/06 - finally I sent this book to Pipmts. Enjoy it!
Considering the symptoms described here, I think I have been going through the menopaws for the past 20 years. Roll on 60! I'm looking forward to being a "sexagénaire". This was a fun book, and I have added some comments here and there, as requested. It is now travelling to welshHelen!
Thanks, WelshHelen. I've been through it once & enjoyed everyone's comments. I'll have to go through it again before sending it on to hunnyb.
I love this little blurb: Mature, responsible, well-adjusted females know that it's natural to expect some changes as the years go by and calmly accept that "to everything there is a season." But the whimsical, womanly, and anything-but-sedate cats of Menopaws offer another approach - let down your fur, embrace the Change, and live your lives to the fullest.
Got this book in the mail yesterday!! I can't believe that it has been traveling almost 4 years! It is in pretty good shape. I couldn't help reading a few pages and can't wait to sit down with it!! I loved what I saw and also loved the comments by bookcrossers written in it! Thanks!!
... just received this several days ago, and am looking forward to a quick weekend read ... from a sneak peek, it looks like I'll enjoy the comments as well ...
This book was a hoot, and in fact, I enjoyed it so much that I have to confess to sharing it with a couple of trusted friends. The illustrations were so clever, and they definitely added to the raucous nature of the subject matter. We have to laugh at this, or we'd cry, right? As soon as I have a chance to make a few comments in the book and to upload my kitties' picture, it will be on its way to MargoReads.
I'm SO sorry I've had this book so long. I read it quickly, but it got buried in a pile of books by the computer that I needed to write release notes for. [I'm a BAD girl.] Anyway, it WILL get mailed by 11/30.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
This is finally on its way to MargoReads after I gave up trying to upload a picture of my cat to the journal entry.
I had a package in my mailbox when I finally arrived home this evening. What could it be? What else did I order? *blank look* Then I noticed the BookCrossing sticker, and my heart leapt! A book - yippee! I skimmed through it almost immediately, grinned at the pictures, and laughed out loud at the comments that have been added to it during it's travels. I'll have to go back through now and add a few of my own, before sending it on its way.
Lobodyke, I love your journal entry picture! LMAO
01/16/2008 UPDATE: Now *I* am responsible for this book being stalled! Ice storms and no power for a week, holidays, and a job change - shrug - sorry, folks! I have it ready to mail off this week to MieLH. Thanks!
The silent meow has finally reached Denmark :) It's so much fun to recieve a book that has been on as long a journey as this one has. Thanx for passing it to me. I've already "read" a few pictures, and will save the rest for tonight :) Will PM the next in line ASAP.
update february 18, 2008: no word from Mandello, so I'm PM'ing the next in line - UK-reader - today.
update february 29, 2008: no word from UK-reader either! I've put up ISO's for both of them in the Bookrings, Bookrays, and Bookboxes forum.
update march 8, 2008: pm'ed Erishkigal today, as she is next on the bookring-list.
As you can see in the entry above I have tried getting in touch with the last three people on the list. No luck so far. Before writing this entry I've sent out yet another PM to each of the three... hoping to get some sign of life :)
If I don't get any I'll send the book back to ... well, who? Usually I'd gladly be the one who arranged and continued the ring, but I am terribly busy with my new job teaching and have to pass for the time being. Elsita, are you the one to continue this, maybe?
I hope this book travels further. The journey has already been amazing :)
Elsita and I have agreed that I should try to continue the ray. And people are already signing up :)

What fun I've had with this book already - and it only arrived today!
It has had such an incredible journey too which still isn't finished. I will make sure to package it carefully before it continues on its way.
I've added to the comments scattered throughout the book, most of which I found very amusing. In fact they are so amusing that my stomach still aches from laughing. :o) Will be PMing next in line and sending it off very soon.
I found it in the mail this morning and I already read it twice, with all your notes from all over the world. Great pleasure ! Thanks a lot for sharing.
Received in the mail yesterday, but did not have time to journal until today. I have already started reading this and can't wait to show a couple of friends. Thanks so much. I will only keep it a week and will send out by next Friday.
What a treasure!! This book made me laugh and cry at the same time as I recognized myself in many of the illustrations. For someone who always likes to be organized and in control of myself, this is turning into a test of my sanity. Who will prevail me or my hormones!!!! When I get really wound up the only thing that gets me through is a massage followed by a glass of wine. My husband bless his heart is getting really good at rubbing my feet, but once (and when really desperate twice)a month I go get an hour long massage. Ahhh!!!! It really mellows me out and helps me cope with all those bitchy feelings itching to get out.
Will be mailing off to the next person in line tomorrow.
Received this about a week ago, and have been too busy to sit at the computer until today....I will read it and get it in the mail to the next person. First impression - 'AHHHHH, WHY IS EVERYONE WRITING INSIDE THIS BOOK??" (I hope to figure why people have written all over the insides of this book, funny or not) Perhaps a separate jounal included with the book would have been better for making comments etc, IMHO. I'll get back to you within the week......

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I will get this in the mail to the next person on the bookring list, on Tuesday September 1, providing they email me promptly with their mailing address. I think this book very cute, but am still not liking the fact that people starting writing inside of it....but I love cats and I'm at the menopausal age.....so I enjoyed looking at the pictures of each symptom....mmm, so much to look forward to ??? Missed mailing this out - too much going on in September and October....but now that I have cleaned up my desk....I will be now sending it on to the next BC in the bookray - Erishkigal.
arived here Xmas eve. sorry i didn't journal sooner.....it has been mucho hectic here...
I enjoyed part of it immediately, then left it on the coffee table, where I could pick it up and chuckle at a few pages here and there, and so could others. One of the others was my nephew, viting from NC, a third-year med student. this year he's doing rotations in different areas of medicine, and next year starts residency in his chosen area. he's been trying to decide between OB-GYN and Family Practice, and laughing said this book (including notes by readers) could tip him into FP :)
so sorry I had this fun book forever~~I looked at the wrong list, and was last on it....then the book disappeared under my chaos for awhile ....finally realized my mistake, and it still took awhile to get in the mail. but it's now on the way to dabercro.
Sure enjoyed the comments added as well as those published :)
Arrived in the mail yesterday. What a fun book. I've already read through it. I really enjoyed it and could relate too well. I also enjoyed the comments added by previous readers. Pming the next participant for their address.
Thanks for sharing this book and to all who added comments and kept this book moving.
