8 out of 10

Some poets were a real revelation to me: John Montague, Michael Hartnett, Derek Mahon, James Simmons, Paul Durcan, John Ennis, Harry Clifton. Really beautiful poetry.

Aidan Carl Mathews wrote this one:

The Death of Irish

The tide gone out for good,
Thirty-one words for seaweed
Whiten on the foreshore.

I will soon release the big W.H. Auden's Oxford Book of Light Verse in Mulligan's, in order to hold on to this book a bit longer...
