I bought this book in Reykjavik as a souvenir of the couple of days I spend in Iceland this April. :D I have also read "Independent People" by the same author a while ago and really enjoyed it, so I'd like to read more!

9 out of 10

What a great read! I am becoming a big fan of Halldor Laxness and his style of telling a story. His tone is quite subdued, but there is a lot of humour in his books and lets the characters speak for themselves, without too many fancy descriptions and things like that. A very enjoyable book that I'm definitely going to recommend to others!

Sending to the UK via Bookmooch.

Just got through Bookmooch. I've ready a couple of Laxness' books. Will read this on a few long flights I've got coming up.
