Thank you so much for this wishlist book, nancynova! And also for the stickers, the bookplates (which are really beautiful) and the sticky notes! My 3-year old son confiscated the postcards, he loves postcards :-). Thank you again, I am going to read this one soon. It will travel with me to the Netherlands where I will pass it on to chamonix44.
March 11, 2010 I am about halfway through this book right now and I love it so much!! I want to read it fast, because I want to know what happens next, but at the same time I want to savour it, because I don't want the book to end. It is easy to forget that this is a work of fiction, the characters are so real and so human. I am definitely going to buy a copy of this book for my permanent collection, because this is one book I would read again and again!
Later that day... I finished the book and it was wonderful! I am sure chamonix44 is going to love it too, it's just such a heartwarming story. I laughed and cried and just really felt for and with the people of Guernsey.

Just popping in to say I am going to start reading this book today. Lots of snow outside, freezing cold, afraid to go out on icy paths/roads! Heating on, pot of tea made, blanket to snuggle up in, and a good book! Every time I have looked at it on my shelf I have been drawn to it, to read it, but there was always something I had to read before it, for one reason or another. (There's always a reason behind my choices on what to read next). Now there is a very good reason. Another copy dropped through my door, after being in the post to me for a couple of months. It was an unexpected rabck. It is a sign to start reading it, and it makes it even easier with two copies. One upstairs by my bed, and one downstairs next to my relaxer chair! It should get read quite quickly now, and then I will pass it on. I really hope that I will enjoy this novel as much as nancynova and pinkoeria. watch this space for a review which will be coming soon, hopefully!
I finished reading this book yesterday. I am not going to rate the book yet until I have read the Acknowledgments, and the Afterword at the back of the book. So I'll be back with a review soon.
I loved this book like the other two journallers before me did. Nice story. I felt sorry for Elizabeth, and for the people of Guernsey with what they went through during the war. I will send this book to someone soon, so that it can continue travelling. I gave the book a 9 star rating.
This book arrived safely. Thank you very much, chamonix44! My youngest daughter and I have both read this book some time ago, and we loved it so much, we wanted to read it again. And so here it is! Funny idea that it came to you from another of my daughters!
