Purchased for TRADE OR RELEASE at a local bookstore sale. I have not read. I understand this is Nick Hornby's first book, originally published in Great Britan. This is a gently-read large-size paperback, about what is described as football (since this is England, it must be soccer?) as an obsession and a coming-of-age story. Gleaned high praise from book critics and bookcrossers alike.

After 10 months, I'm going to give up on this book... it's been my go-to book for when I can't find anything else to read, and I haven't gotten more than 3/4 of the way through.
What I read was very good, though! I'm just not enough of a soccer fan to really enjoy the book.
I'm going on road trip today... I'll release it along the way somewhere.
