In a tiny stained-glass shop in the hidden backstreets of Westminster lies the cracked, sparkling image of an angel.
The owners of Minster Glass have also been broken: Fran Morrison's mother died when she was a baby; a painful event never mentioned by her difficult, secretive father Edward. Fran left home to pursue a career in foreign cities, as a classical nusicain. But now Edward is dangerously ill and it's time to return.
Taking her father's place in the shop, she and his craftsman Zac accept a beguiling commission - to restore a shattered glass picture of an exquisite angel belonging to a local church. As they reassemble the dazzling shards of coloured glass, they uncover an extraordinary love story from the Victorian past, sparked by the window's creation. Slowly, Fran begins to see her own reflection in its themes of passion, tragedy and redemption.

I just arrived back from 3 weeks away! While I was away a large pile of books arrived! So it will take me a couple of weeks go get to read this! I am looking forward to reading it!!!
The Glass Painters Daughter is a well written book, it moves slowly but gives one time to absorb the story. At times I thought it was quite sad but in the end it all ended as it should however, it was a bit long. Could have been 1/3 shorter.
I am now waiting for the next reader to send me her address.

Arrived this weekend, and for a change I don't have any rings to finish so this is next up, thanks for sharing :)
I enjoyed this book,it was a two nice stories interwoven, an nice easy read that kept me turning the pages. I did find that sometimes there was unnecessary descriptions about food, colours of clothes etc, but I was able to read through these and it didn't seem to deter me from reading on.
Thanks for sharing, on it's way to the next person :)

I really enjoyed this book, it's the first one I've read by this author and I look forward to reading more.
I liked learning about the different aspects of stained glass making which I knew nothing about before along with the sad story of Fran losing her mum at a young age and the love story interwoven with all this.
Pming lauraloo29 for her address.

Arrived safe and sound today. I have a few rings here at the moment. No worries. I am keeping them moving. :) Thank you!
I just haven't been able to get into this book. Christmas was distracting. I would have taken more time, but I have a pile of bookrings here that I have to look at. Thank you for sharing! This book will be on its way this week.
Arrived today - will get 'round to it ASAP. Thanks for sharing
The stained-glass portions of the book was fascinating, especially the restoration process of the angel, but the remainder of the novel, which dragged a bit at times, was a paint-by-numbers romance written a very old-fashioned way, for want of a better word. I'm not even sure if any of the main characters ever jumped in the sack to be honest as the intimate (?) relationships were only alluded to.
I'll contact the next in line in the next couple of days. My partner, heartgirl, would like a go at it and it might be more her kind of read than mine. I hope everyone in the ring won't mind me hanging on to it a bit longer if she'd like to read it.

Posted by surface mail to RrCaron in the UK today. Enjoy and spend the money wisely
Received this in the mail. Will be starting it soon!!
I really enjoyed this book. The search of Fran's past led to many interesting discoveries, and everything fell together perfectly for the ending. The history of stained glass making was intersting also. Sending on to next reader. Thanks for sharing!
