A Walk Across America
2 journalers for this copy...
A young man dealing with his disillusionment decides to walk across the country with his Malamute. The people he meets along the way teach him new appreciation for his country and his experiences bring the author greater self-awareness. It seems to me that the author's own youth or lack of life experience was more reason for his negative view of America at the outset than the social and political concerns he cited. He was depressed over HIS life in America, not "life in America," of which he had no concept until he got out there to see it. By the end of this book, he has done nothing to change the social ills he claims bothered him, but has made breakthroughs in mastering his own life.
The book arrived in today's mail, thank you and I look forward to reading it.
