The Zahir: A Novel of Obsession
4 journalers for this copy...
Bookmooched.
A fairly typical Paulo Coelho about finding the meaning of love and life. The narrator, a famous author, thinks he has a very happy marriage, but suddenly his wife disappears without any warning, though leaving a few clues that she is still alive. It becomes a zahir, or obsession, to find out where she has gone and why. Of course, it's this journey to the obsession that is the subject of the book.
The interesting thing is that the book is prefaced by the poem Ithaca, by Constantine Cavafy, which was a theme of the last book, I read (East of the Sun). How did that happen?
