Picked this up quite a while ago and haven't had a chance to read it yet. It's on my list.

February 2011 - Started reading this but found it too girlie for my liking so gave up after about 20 pages. Hopefully the next reader will like it more, will be sent as soon as I get chance.

After giving up on some truly dire chick-lit over the last six months ago, my faith in romance been restored - I loved this book!! Okay, I admit the whole plot-line is predictable, & I don't think I'm spoiling anything for future readers by saying that you know that Laura's current love Dan isn't going to dump his girlfriend for her &, when Laura meets Nick at a stately home, you know immediately what his "secret" is going to be...mistaken identity being a well-run plot in romances after all!

But it's all done in such a sweet way you can't (well I couldn't) help but get swept away by it all (I was likening Laura's first sight of Chartley Hall to Elizabeth Bennett seeing Pemberly for the first time!) -- and the end of chapter 29/start of chapter 30 - well!!! I had a huge smile on my face - what girl hasn't daydreamed about that happening. Okay, just me then... ;o)

Loved it, loved it, loved it!! It's been the best Sunday I've had in sometime, lazying in the sun reading this - thanks for giving me a great weekend wal-89!

Read as part of the 2011 ULTIMATE CHALLENGE (#39) - themed "FOOD & DRINK" read for April (if I can get away with HOP...as in brewing!!)

Brill, thanks - love a good chic-lit romance . . but will it make me cry?
Had a fab first "mini-meet" today, and LOVED getting the bag of books.
Thanks, Plum-crazy.

I have to admit this is a beautiful book - in the literal sense but not, I'm afraid, in the literary sense! The cover has a real glitter fountain on it, and the writing is really attractive. As I said, a beautiful book. Inside the book - I gave it a few chapters, but it hasn't got me gripped.
Having just re-read Plum-crazy's glowing report, I may hang on a bit longer and try it again - when I run out of things to read!!
