Lo había leído hace unos años y volvi a leerlo con entusiasmo.
La película se hizo en Portugal, al menos una parte (me encanta Meryl Streep) :)

Fantastic in more ways than one. The characters are believable, have unique voices and are very well shaped. The social and political background comes to life brutally from behind a family saga and multiple love (and life) stories. There's at least a little bit for every taste in this book. I find it hard not to love it. Often cruel, I found it had a backbone of hope nonetheless.
This is the first full-length novel I read in Spanish. I made an experiment to help me get through it - I listened to the audiobook while reading from the physical copy. It went way better than I expected - while I am not confident enough to write in Spanish (sorry!), I didn't have any trouble understanding and enjoying the book. There were a few words I probably saw for the first time, but it was always easy to grasp their meaning from context, and I ended up learning them as well :)
