DIFFERENT COVER!!

From the back cover:

'Roger Ackroyd knew too much. He knew that the woman he loved had poisoned her brutal first husband. He suspected also that someone had been blackmailing her. Now, tragically, came the news that she had taken her own life with a drug overdose.

But the evening post brought Roger one last fatal scrap of information. Unfortunately, before he could finish the letter, he was stabbed to death ...

The sensational case that made Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot famous!

Agatha Christie was born in Torquay in 1890 and became, quite simply, the best-selling novelist in history. She wrote 79 crime mysteries and collections, and saw her work translated into more languages than Shakespeare. Her enduring success, enhanced by many film and TV adaptations, is a tribute to the timeless appeal of her characters and the unequalled ingenuity of her plots.'

This is a paperback edition from HarperCollins, published in 1993. The book was originally published in 1926.

I've been looking for this book at flea markets and the like for probably two years - I wanted to get a copy because this book is the only Christie title on the list of the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. So I really want to read this. But it's been incredibly elusive for some reason. Annoying. But all good things apparently come to she who waits. :-)

I bought this book at a flea market at Ullevål elementary school in Oslo on Saturday, March 28th, 2009.
