Harper Connelly has what you might call a strange job: she finds dead people. The way Harper sees it, she's providing a service to the dead while bringing some closure to the living-but she's used to most people treating her like a blood-sucking leech.
Traveling with her stepbrother Tolliver as her manager and sometime-bodyguard, she's become an expert at getting in, getting paid, and getting out fast. Because for the living it's always urgent-even if the dead can wait forever...

What can I say? I loved this book! Harper's "talent" is finding corpses...& knowing how they died. Unfortunately she doesn't have the knack of knowing who killed a victim & in this case it leads her into trouble.
The plotline was good & Harper & her step-brother Tolliver are intriguing & endearing characters (even if at times their relationship seems like it could be a little too close!).
I'd never heard of this author (but I've found out she writes the Sookie Stackhouse books which I've seen mentioned in the forums) but I'm pleased to find out there's 3 more in this series, so guess what's going on my wishlist! :o)
The back cover has a Gollancz Romancz logo on it - if you're not a romance lover don't let that put you off this book, in my eyes it fits firmly in the supernatural mystery genre.
I'm sending it straight onto to the winner of Lippy's Let 'Em Loose Sweepstake...I hope they enjoy it as much as I did. Now I'm off to track down some more of the series....

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Yay, thanks, Plum-Crazy! I have been wanting to read something by this author for a while now.
Finished this one. Didn't like it as much as the Sookie Stackhouse books that I've read, the plot seemed a little thin. Did like the characters, though.
