Hi Reader

I am really pleased that you found this book. It is a gift from me to you. If you wish you may hold on to it but I hope that you will pass it on, either to a friend or loved one, or by leaving it to be found again. That way our book will be on an adventurous journey which we can follow as it gets passed along.

In the meantime, did you read the book? What did you think of it? Also, what do you think of the idea of bookcrossing? It would be great if you decided to register and start passing your books along. The more people releasing books into the wild the more fun. If you decide to join I would be delighted if you wish to mention me, shelj7k, as the member who introduced you.

All best wishes

Still traumatised by her brush with a psychopath, Detective Cassie Maddox transfers out of the Murder squad and starts a relationship with fellow detective Sam O'Neill. When he calls her to the scene of his new case, she is shocked to find that the murdered girl is her double. What's more, her ID shows she is Lexie Madison - the identity Cassie used, years ago, as an undercover detective.

With no leads, no suspects and no clues to Lexie's real identity, Cassie's old boss spots the opportunity of a lifetime: send Cassie undercover in her place, to tempt the killer out of hiding to finish the job.

I took this thriller with me to Finland from the BC shelf in the Long Stone pub as this writer is new to me and her story style interested me. It was great that I found this unofficial pub BC shelf based on the info on the Go Hunting site and was able to visit. I also browsed through the other books in the shelf and saw some cute personal BC labels. Unfortunately I had already released all my available BC books I had brought from Finland to other places in Ireland, so I did not have anything to drop to the Long Stone shelf now. I will be sure to visit the shelf again if and hopefully when I return to Ireland on a new journey someday.

Thanks and greetings from Finland! The book will move on to new readers after I have finished reading it.

Finally I have finished this one! It was nice to find a new Irish thriller writer, I had not heard about her before. I liked her style so much that I might add her previous book In the Woods to my wishlist.

What comes to the plot of this book, I thought the whole undercover business was very fascinating and thrilling. It kept the tension running high all the time. The happenings in this book gave me the shivers more than once. As a reader, I had no choice but to admire Cassie's boldness in her acts. This book also has many moments describing the ruthlessness of a human mind.

The ending of the book gave me mixed feelings and I kept also thinking about the challenge of ending the undercover operation, jumping out of the role.

Thank you so much shelj7k for this reading experience and sorry that this book stayed such a long time with me. I will now take it to our local BC meeting to look for new readers.

Failed again in not taking more books to read at meet-up, especially thick books in foreign language. Oh well, I guess I'm not the only one! This book seems very interesting. Appelsiini was also interested in it, and I'll give it to her after finishing the book myself, whenever that will be.

I really liked this book. Fluent writing, thrilling plot, interesting characters, what's not to like? The people of Whitethorne House reminded me of the group of students in Donna Tartt's Secret History. Not that I mind, I like that book, too. I liked Daniel's philosophical monologues about various topics, they gave something extra to think about. The ending gave me mixed feelings, too. I'm not sure if I understood everything. Anyway, I'm very happy I got to read this book, so thanks for sharing! I have Tana French's In the Woods on my wishlist now.

This book is now reserved for Appelsiini.
