Journal Entry 6 by lisabb2 from Grimes, Iowa USA on Wednesday, May 27, 2009
This was a great read!!! Like other Picoult books, she explored the subject from multiple sides and I'm not sure how I really wanted this to end after hearing it all...won't spoil it for anyone else though. This book will be off to the next person once I get the mailing info. Thanks for including me on this ray!!!

Journal Entry 7 by dabercro from Clinton, Utah USA on Saturday, June 13, 2009
Received in yesterday's mail. Picoult is one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to start reading this book. This book is up next.

Journal Entry 8 by dabercro from Clinton, Utah USA on Tuesday, June 23, 2009
As typical of a Picoult novel, I was sucked in within a few pages. Picoult takes a subject out of the headlines and writes a fictional story showing all the sides. It makes the reader question how they would react in the same situation. I'm not sure if I liked the way the story ended. As a mother, I can understand Nina wanting to protect her child and avenge the person who hurt him. I'm not sure that I agree with the way she went about it. I could say alot more but don't want to spoil it for future readers. Thanks MyssCyn for sharing!

Journal Entry 12 by NMReader from Herndon, Virginia USA on Friday, August 14, 2009
This is a late journal entry. I completed the book last Thursday August 6 but was traveling and haven't been online since. I asked my sister to mail this for me and it went out last Sat Aug 8. I enjoyed the book very much. I have only read The Pact by this author before but I agree she helps you explore many angles of the plot. I can understand Nina's actions but do not necessarily condone them. I also empathized with many characters.

Journal Entry 15 by sarradee from Dallas, Texas USA on Friday, August 28, 2009
Another interesting read from Jodi Picoult, this time she deals with the sexual abuse of a child and what lengths the parents might go to to protect him from the accused abuser. I figured out the twist ending, except that I thought it was someone else. Sending to nancynova in tomorrow's mail.

Journal Entry 17 by NancyNova from Lansdale, Pennsylvania USA on Friday, September 25, 2009
Started this yesterday - about 1/2 way done. Good, but not as good as some of her other work thus far. Wondering where else she can take this story...and only 1/2 done the book.

Journal Entry 18 by NancyNova from Lansdale, Pennsylvania USA on Tuesday, September 29, 2009
It got better in the second half of the book. A prosecutor for the state, Nina really knows the legal system. But when her 5 yo son is raped, she takes the law into her own hands, shooting the accused priest….but he was innocent. Now, Nina's family, her close family friend Patrick, Nina's prosecutor for the murder of the priest and Nina's own lawyer become part of the narration of the book. And we are dragged into a word of grey - and what will happen to the family. And what is wrong or right? Not quite as good as some of her books, but better than I expected.

Journal Entry 20 by luckof from Barrie, Ontario Canada on Wednesday, October 14, 2009
Received this yesterday from Nancynova -- THANKS!! She is correct -- it is a well travelled book -- and unfortunately it needs some TLC -- and I am not the right person to do this as I am sure I will mess it up -- have three ahead of this one -- hopefully I won't delay and stall too long -- and when it travells it will stay in the little ziplock baggie that Nancy provided

This book certainly gives you plenty to think about. I am still not sure if I liked the ending. It could have gone in many different directions.Thank you MyssCyn for including me. I am waiting for an address to send the book on. Penelopewanders has asked to be skipped and I haven't heard back from the next one in line. With the cold snap we are having, I don't want to walk down to the Post Office anyway.
