Fellow Book Crosser BooksnBeer lend this to me at our recent monthly homebrew club meeting on June 6. I started reading it about 2 weeks ago while traveling back and forth to work on the bus and couldn't put it down. I liked the author's writing style and the view into Indian life...still thinking about the ending, that was a surprise.

This will be going into a BookObsessed Game. An extraordinary and brilliant first novel... At first, this novel seems like a straightforward pulled-up-by-your-bootstraps tale, albeit gien a dazzling twist by the narrator's sharp and satirical eye for the realities of life for India's poor... But as the narrative draws the reader further in, and darkens, it becomes clear that Adiga is playing a bigger game...' Blazingly savage and brilliant.. What Adiga lifts the lid on is also inexorably true: not a single detail in this novel rings false or feels confected. The White Tiger is an excoriating piece of work [that] also manages to be suffused with mordant wit, modulating to clear-eyed pathos.

A good, fast read. I liked the narrator, despite him not being the most moral of beings.
